Experienced Affordable Housing Manager Joins Community Preservation Partners

IRVINE, Calif. (Jan. 9, 2019) – John Fraser, an accomplished affordable housing executive with a decade of experience in mixed-use development, has joined Community Preservation Partners (CPP), a rapidly growing developer and rehabilitation specialist with more than 7,200 units in eight states, as its new senior project manager.

Fraser comes from The Community Builders in Boston, Mass., where he served as senior project manager of development, leading several mixed-income, mixed-use, and mixedfinanced development projects. He brings extensive knowledge in working with state and local governments to source low-income housing tax credits, and he’ll be based out of CPP’s new office in Reston, Va.

“John brings valuable development skills to our eastern operations, and a passion for creating quality homes that are affordable for the region’s low-income families,” said CPP President Anand Kannan. “We are excited to have him on the team as we continue to grow nationwide.”

Since launching its eastern division a year ago, CPP acquired affordable housing communities in Richmond, Va., and Rochester, N.Y., and began comprehensive improvements at each site designed to enrich the lives of residents.

“We have committed nearly $75 million to the preservation of affordable housing on the east coast over the past year. These investments go a long way toward improving people’s lives and strengthening broader communities,” said CPP Vice President Seth Gellis, who heads the company’s eastern initiative. “With the addition of John’s expertise, CPP will be even more formidable in expanding our eastern portfolio in the years to come.”

A dozen years after being created as the development arm of affordable housing pioneer WNC & Associates, Inc., CPP recently surpassed the $1.5 billion investment mark nationwide.
