CPP Sends School Supply Woes Packing, Donates to Rancho Cordova Community

July 27, 2021

Kids have more than enough to think about on back to school day as it is – what are they going to wear? who’s going to be in their class? Is the teacher nice? – but as excitement ramps up for their children, some parents struggle with a more dire question: can they afford the supplies their child needs?

In partnership with the Embrace Foundation and the Foundation for Affordable Housing, CPP was proud to lend a hand during this stressful time with a recent backpack drive for the children of the Rancho Cordova Apartments in Rancho Cordova, California Donations came from CPP and WNC staff, as well as Katerra Affordable Housing, filling backpacks with much-needed supplies such as pens, pencils, calculators, crayons, glue sticks and hand sanitizer.

By the drive’s deadline, a mountain of supplies had been assembled at CPP’s Irvine, California, headquarters. We’re pleased to say the effort brought in enough supplies to provide 84 students with backpacks filled to the brim with the materials they need to start the school year strong.
