Park Sunset Apartments is a 30-unit affordable housing community for senior citizens. Located in the Inner Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco, the building was acquired and rehabilitated by Community Preservation Partners (CPP) in 2016. This is a critical project that extends affordability in the culturally and economically diverse city of San Francisco, which is one of the most expensive real estate markets in the nation.
Park Sunset Apartments has been improved and preserved by CPP, a subsidiary of the affordable housing pioneer, WNC & Associates. The company specializes in bringing parties from all corners of the economy together for a common cause. CPP acquired the aging apartment building, which was built in 1974, from the nonprofit Park Sunset Housing Corporation, an affiliate of Seventh Avenue Presbyterian Church.
The project cost approximately $16.5 million with roughly $1.7 million in renovations — approximately $56,000 per unit. It included contributions from the following entities:
